Guide to MORE
This short guide provides the context of the MORE programme, covering the Programme Architecture, Objectives, and Work Experience Objectives.
Future Skills Framework
These skills, essential for the future, encompass a range of abilities that empower individuals to adapt, thrive, and contribute effectively in a dynamic global landscape. By integrating these future skills into personal development programmes and curricula, individuals are equipped with the necessary tools to excel in an increasingly complex and dynamic environment, enhancing personal well-being and playing a pivotal role in fostering career success, effective teamwork, and the ability to navigate the world of work. These skills are thoughtfully incorporated into lesson plans across all strands of MORE, with teaching resources offering guidance at various skill levels, from awareness to competence and mastery. The skills are organised into three skill families, namely Relationship Management, Self, and Innovation and Digital, each contributing to an integrated approach to skill development and lifelong learning.
MORE CURRICULUM & LESSON PLANS
The scheme of work is a comprehensive five-year rolling programme designed to empower teachers and strategic leads with the essential information and tools to engage and prepare students across Key Stages 3, 4, 5, and beyond. It can mapped against the development plan and disseminated into departmental planning. Aligned to the CDI framework and the Gatsby Benchmarks, including Post-16, this Scheme of Work seamlessly integrates three critical strands: Personal and Social Development (PSD), Employability and Enterprise, and Career Management. By addressing essential future skills, this programme not only equips educators but also provides a structured yet flexible framework for strategic planning and nurturing individual growth. Whether integrated into an existing curriculum or offered as standalone sections, this scheme ensures that teachers and strategic leads are well-prepared to guide students effectively for the challenges and opportunities of the future.

As you look through the lesson plans, you will see that there are certain worksheets that can be used. They can either be accessed on this section, or there is a link on each lesson plan page. These are downloadable Word documents, so you can edit them however it suits you.

CICO App
A CICO® profile forms the terms of reference for future career decisions. The most important aspect of this is that factoring in Core Interests when making career decisions means someone is more likely to be happy in their career. It is vital that young people know early on what is likely to make them happy.
CICO Career Families Workbook
The CICO Careers Families Workbook, comprising of over 500 listed ‘jobs’ grouped within Job Families, offers a structured approach to understanding a student’s core interests and motivations, which in turn aids in making well-thought-out early career decisions. For parents and carers, it provides reassurance that these decisions are based on a thorough exploration of the student’s interests and motivations, increasing the likelihood of career satisfaction. The workbook empowers students to create a shortlist of highlighted jobs which will make them happy and enables career advisers and parents/carers to guide their young person toward researching specific areas of next-step pathways that align strongly with their career interests, supporting them to make informed choices.
TRANSITIONS
This resource provides visual cues and conversation starters for various transitions, and is particularly helpful for those who struggle with social communication. It can be used at various stages, creating an opportunity to discuss students concerns around transition and begin the process of planning and preparation. They have also been designed to develop student capability in interaction in public places as well as in educational settings.
GOOD THINGS ABOUT WORKING
This resource is a valuable tool to support students to recognise and appreciate the advantages of having a job. Each “card” highlights a different positive aspect of working, along with conversation starters to encourage students to discuss their future careers.
JOB FAMILIES
This resource consists of 21 job categories, with imagery, so students can recognise different roles within each category. Students can see the range of career options in each category, and it encourages the exploration of diverse job opportunities aligned with their interests, skills, and capabilities.
